Mission Statement:

We undertake the responsibility to improve the student's ability to strike the golf ball in a more orderly fashion, easier & more consistently, to its intended target. This applies to all aspects of play including the long game, short game, woods, irons, chipping and putting. All the while we promote general health, fitness and fun in our lessons.

Club Fitting

There are many variables when it comes to Club Fitting. Below are listed many of them to consider.
Looking after these things will ensure you of a proper fitted golf club.

Shaft Flex- The flex in the shaft is more or less the amount the shaft will bend when a load is put on it. The more load you put on the shaft the stiffer it should be. This is probably the most important factor in determining correct ball flight.

Shaft Flex Point- This is a point on the shaft where the shaft will bend with the lower the flex point the higher the ball flight.

Club Lie- All iron clubs should be tested for the correct lie. When striking the ball, you want the head of the iron to be in the right position. On a flat lie the sole of the club should contact the ground in the center of the club head.. The only way this can be tested is through the hitting of the golf ball and taking readings in the process.

Shaft Length- Shaft length is a variable although the basic rule is that the longer the shaft the farther the ball should go but the harder it is to hit in the center. So if you would like to hit it farther you could lengthen your shaft.

Grip Size- The size of the grip is important as too small a grip will result in club slipping and too much activity with the hands and too large a grip will make it hard to hold on too which will increase tension in the hands and slow the hands down. Material of the grip is a up to the individual keeping in mind the ability of the club no to slip.

Set Make-Up- Which clubs you carry is very important to what you are capable of doing. How many woods, hybrids, wedges is an integral part of playing your best golf. The first priority is to calculate how far you carry each club and see if there are any noticeable gaps or any clubs that go the same distance. Once this is determined then which clubs to carry should be related to how well you can hit them.

Driver Fitting- In this day and age, proper driver fitting is a stand alone item. Correct launch angle, spin rate based on your swing speed is essential in maximizing distance of the tee. Using high tech equipment is a good way of determining the right driver, as well as having a trained professional observing the ball flight is a good way of fitting your longest club.

Wedge Fitting- When determining set make-up as stated above, fitting for wedges is a high priority in order to score well at this game. It is not uncommon for someone to carry 4 or 5 wedges. Finding the right wedges that allows you to control a broad range of distances is the right way to go.

Putter Fitting- This should probably be at the top of the list as this is the club that is used the most. Finding the right putter is essential in your scoring arsenal. Having a well balanced putter sure aids in putting. Again, seeing a qualified fitter would go along way towards selecting a putter.

Other Variables to Consider- There are many other variables to consider and working with a qualified Club Fitter is a great suggestion. Things like club loft, shaft material, swing weight, head design, head material and others can also be a factor in selecting the right tools for you.
